Participate in the creation, from the ground up, of a high-tech business producing cutting edge solution for industrial inspection, quality control and metrology.

As R&D Director:

  • Create architecture for scientific algorithm and applicative framework
  • Develop Algorithms
  • Manage and oversee Project for part of the code built by consultants
  • Research, test and choose development tools for R&D team in order to efficiently be able to controle agile development process, source control, continuous integration and documentation
  • Prototype and code scientific basis for application

As Primary Partner:

  • Meet with key actors in the field of application for our product in order to:
    • Establish pain-points to better focus development efforts
    • Learn about the business fields
    • Gather Manufacturing industry requirements
    • Gather Aeronautics industry requirements
  • Meet with Government representatives

  • Help to mold the business plan in order to focus development efforts to minimize risk and maximize short term success while still building for a long term (5 to 10 year) plan.

Project Manager and Software Engineer                                                2014 – 2016

  • Managed a project to implement FTI TIP insertion on one of Morpho’s checkpoint scanners. Overviewed The entire project but also completely implemented image vision algorithms for automatic and random positioning of FTI inside a real-time bag image.
  • Implemented redefinition of authentication modules to use custom in house user definitions and privileges while still integrated into native system authentication module for a training simulator.


Optosecurity, January 2007 – June 2014

Accomplishments :

  • Creation of a Liquid Explosive Device Software (LEDS). Software certified in Europe following the rules and CTM put forth by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC). To this day, Optosecurity is the only independent solution for single view scanners attaining Type C Standard 2 certification. Also certified on Multi-view systems.
  • Creation of a millimeter-wave imaging threat detection software.
  • Creation of of the first remote screening software for airport security operations (eVelocity). eVelocity, which is actually an ERP system, is currently in operation in several airports.
  • Management of several Optosecurity partnerships with key player enterprises in the security business (L3 Detection & Communication, Morpho Detection International, Gilardoni S.P.A., Smiths Detection, Scarabee systems and Technology)
  • Management of consultants tasked at creating some of the sub-systems in eVelocity software (Alt Software, Macadamian, Herbert Systems, VLAM)

Senior Director, Research, Algorithmics and Software                             2010 – 2014

  • Personnel management: Software team as well as research, computer vision and algorithms team (15 to 20 people in all)
  • Help the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to crystallize his visions and make them reality.

  • Personnel management: Research, vision and algorithms team (3 to 5 people).
  • Take part in quarterly strategic planning meetings with upper management.
  • Architecture and advanced threat detection system development based on X-Ray and millimeter wave images.

  • Architect, develop, and lead the development of the Liquid Explosive Detection Software (LEDS) that was later certified for European Union airports satisfying the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) CTM for Type C Standard level 2 .

  • Develop the GTKmm GUI under Linux for Version 1.0 of Optosecurity’s Optoscreener, Develop Image analysis and Computer vision algorithms in C++. Provide high level architecture for threat detection modules
  • Develop calibration techniques for the Optoscurity’s LEDS system and prior iterations of this X-Ray threat detection system.

      • Development within InSpeceEM, a 3D data viewer, editor and scientific handling software created to handle most types of 3D Mesh data, but more specifically, InSpeck’s own, acquired with their entire line of white light 3D Scanners. InSpeck has since been acquired by Creaform.
      • Developed tool to automate the calibration of InSpeck’s 3D scanners.
      • Developed anthropomorphic measurement tools for 3D models acquired with InSpeck’s scanners.
